LTO specifications are open format, designed for interoperability from among multiple competing vendors. These vendors submit their products to compatibility testing to ensure vendor functionality so that an LTO technology from one vendor can be used on a drive provided by another. It’s become the de-facto standard for medium-tier storage needs.

The LTO Ultrium custom tape barcode labels are sold in sheets of 32 labels and are customised to your exact needs. Price is per sheet of 32 labels.
Most manufacturers recommend a 6 character label (alpha & numeric or just numeric) with a LTO identifier at the end. For example the identifier is L8 for LTO8 tapes. See Picture as example.
Labels are suitable for the following tapes: LTO1, LTO2, LTO3, LTO4, LTO5, LTO6, LTO7, LTO7 M8, LTO8 and LTO9 and LTO cleaning tapes. Diagnostic LTO tape barcode labels are also available.
They can be numeric only such as 000001 or can include 1,2 or 3 letters followed by numbers usually up to 6 characters total, but can be more depending on the library.
