Description
The HPE P28586-B21 is a 1.2TB, 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF) serial-attached SCSI (SAS) hard drive rated for 10,000 RPM and 12Gb/s transfer speed. It is supplied in Field Serviceable (FS) condition.
SAS drives support dual-port connectivity, allowing redundant paths and higher throughput than equivalent SATA units. The 12Gb/s interface and 10K RPM make this drive suited to transaction-intensive and latency-sensitive workloads such as databases, virtualization, and application servers.
For compatibility, this unit requires a SAS backplane and a SAS or SmartArray storage controller. It is designed for HPE ProLiant server models that accommodate 2.5-inch SAS drives; verify bay size and controller support before purchase. Field Serviceable drives are functional units intended for installation in place of a failed or removed part.
